On our Back to Basics course you will learn how to make a rich tomato sauce, which will then be used as a base for a number of classic every day favourites, such as lasagne, moussaka and meat balls. Teaching how one sauce can bring a number of dishes to life. There will be a focus on simple soups, casseroles, pies, pasta and rice dishes, plus British classics like crumbles, fruit pies, sponge cakes and scones to name a few.
Using fresh produce available from the farm, the course will cover how to make the most using seasonal fruits and vegetables, an important skill in reducing your shopping bill. There will also be lots of ideas of how to use up leftovers and other tips to save those pennies. With an emphasis on healthy eating you will learn how to cook healthy meals that are lower in sugar and salt compared to shop bought ready meals.
Whether your stuck in a rut with every day cookery or off to university, this course is for you. It will provide you with the know how to whip up delicious healthy meals from scratch, using a range of ingredients and techniques.
