Lino Poli, of the highly praised restaurants Firenze and Boboli, will be running a series of inspirational Italian Cooking Classes at Bridge 67, Smeeton Westerby.
We are delighted to be collaborating with Jill Vickers of Bridge 67 Cookery School where Lino will be sharing some of his secrets, and a little of his Italian heritage.
At 15 years of age, Lino cut the apron strings of Mama, and left for Scuola Alberghiera in San Pellegrino, where he developed his passion for cooking. Lino’s ambition has taken to a variety of Michelin Starred Restaurants over the years, to Belgium, Paris, Hong Kong and Florence, finally settling in Kibworth, south Leicestershire!
Lino has developed his passion, and culinary skills, he still seeks to achieve the standards of excellence that he learnt on his travels, but endeavours to keep his style of food approachable and real. A puritan at heart, Lino enjoys taking the best ingredients, applies his knowledge and expertise, a little twist of modernity here and there, and makes the very best of the classics, whilst embracing some of the new as well.

Tutto Pasta; All about bread and pasta, as well as preparing some of the classic sauces too; Bolognaise, Carbonara, Lasagne, and risotto for lunch

Cucina Lombarda; A day in Lombardy, Lino’s home land in the north, discover the rural and rustic flavours typical of this mountainous region

Tutto Pesce; Learn the basics of the care and preparation of fish, and then embark on a voyage of discovery of how the Italians’ like to serve it

Cucina Siciliana; A day in the hot south o Italy, where it’s not just the sun that is hot; Understand how the southern Italian’s use those more piquant flavours of their region, to create fabulous flavoursome food
