Corporate Team Building

Think of your staff as fresh ingredients, how you put those ingredients together and the effects they have on one another can result in the most spectacular of end dishes or a inedible disaster. The perfect team is made up of different individuals with their own skills and attributes. Bring them together in the unthreatening environment of the kitchen and see what hidden master chefs you have. Like complimentary flavours, your staff’s qualities should combine together to make the perfect blend.

Cookery team building days are a great way to promote communication between your team members. The kitchen is a level playing field and you may find that the busy lady from reception or the quiet gentleman from accounts is actually a whiz in the kitchen, thus bringing skills to the business pot you never knew they had.

We offer team building cookery courses for up to 20 people. From a good fun day out to a more formal team building exercise we can tailor the day to meet your company’s needs. We also offer our most successful format, the Bridge 67 Cookery School Challenge as an off the peg corporate team building day

Feedback from one of our bespoke Team Building Days

I would just like to say, the boys had a first class day without exception.... it was memorale for all the right reasons. I learned a lot more about our staff, as an employer it was very useful. "

The Bridge 67 Cookery School Challenge

Objectives
The aim of the challenge is for two cookery teams to compete to prepare a 3-course meal within the allotted time. This is a competitive event in which each cookery team will produce a balanced, well cooked meal that will be judged at the end. Don’t worry, our professional staff will ensure that your meal is a success!

The Activity
Teams must be well organised and use their time effectively in order to complete the challenge. There is a strong emphasis on team communication and interaction throughout the day which concludes with your staff enjoying the fruits of their labour with a glass of wine.

Each team will be provided with a kitchen in which to cook. Both groups will be given a number of recipes, all of which must be cooked at some point through out the day. The teams must then decide in which order to cook the dishes depending on their allocated time allowance, the availability of ingredients and their confidence!

The teams also have to come up with two innovative and creative vegetable dishes to accompany the meal using the ingredients and resources around them.

The teams will be asked for reasons why they decided to cook the recipes in their chosen order and then they will be awarded points based on the following criteria:

  • Presentation of each dish
  • Balance of the meal / how the dishes compliment each other
  • Innovative and creative flare for the two vegetable dishes
  • Taste and seasoning
  • Organisation of group
  • Tidiness, cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen

Finally, we always add a little red herring in at the end also to make it more interesting!

Your staff are promised a fun and engaging event and will leave feeling refreshed, well fed and watered. Our professional staff all have previous corporate experience and will ensure that your business benefits, from your staff spending quality time working in the kitchen. As much as we dislike corporate language, we can’t find a better description than “team bonding”!
